How PALUNEXA calculates color
The engine is deterministic and works without a paid AI service. Numeric facts and editorial design advice are kept separate.
Conversion and precision
HEX represents 8-bit encoded sRGB. RGB↔HSL uses channel maxima and minima. Intermediate calculations retain floating-point precision; the displayed HEX rounds to channel integers. Neutral colors do not have a defined hue.
OKLCH and the sRGB boundary
OKLCH conversion uses D65 OKLab matrices. Perceptual edits are separate from HSL harmony. If a result is outside sRGB, the engine holds OKLCH lightness and hue while binary-searching a lower chroma over 24 iterations. This policy is not a claim to match every browser's gamut mapping.
Interpret the result responsibly
A descriptive name such as sage is not a universal pigment specification. A pleasing palette is subjective, and no color choice guarantees an emotion, brand outcome or AI search citation. The current atlas contains individually authored entries, not every possible HEX value.
