This is the sRGB blue primary, not a pale sky blue. A fully active blue channel gives it an intense appearance while its relative luminance is much lower than that of the green primary.
This HEX also has a CSS keyword name.
Better together.
Complementary
Two colors, 180° apart. A clear contrast across the HSL color wheel.
Try it as a link or a compact graphic accent on a light page. Underline links or otherwise distinguish them from body text so that interaction is not communicated by color alone.
Design advice is context-dependent. It is separate from the numeric calculations.
What to check before using it
A bright-looking blue is not necessarily light in a luminance calculation. Compare both white and black text below rather than selecting a foreground by apparent vividness.
#0000ff is rgb(0, 0, 255), hsl(240, 100%, 50%), and oklch(0.45201372 0.31321437 264.052021). These values are calculated from the same opaque sRGB color.
Which text color is more readable on #0000ff?
Black has 2.44:1 contrast and white has 8.59:1. Of these two, White has the higher contrast. Normal-text AA requires at least 4.5:1.
How is the complementary palette calculated?
The engine rotates HSL hue by 180° and keeps saturation and lightness. For this color the result is #0000ff, #ffff00. Achromatic colors stay neutral.
Why does blue look darker than lime at the same HSL lightness?
HSL lightness is based on RGB channel extrema, not perceived brightness. WCAG relative luminance weights the channels differently, and OKLCH provides another way to compare perceived lightness.

Suggested text color: #ffffff (8.59:1).
Displayed text contrast: 8.59:1 · Accessible text alternatives affect only the preview. Your palette stays unchanged.
The tested pair is used on colored buttons, cards, KPIs and slide bands. Other template text uses #262a23 (13.18:1) or #55594f (6.47:1) on #f6f3ec. Charts have numbered labels. This is not a complete accessibility audit.

Accessibility / WCAG AA
Make it readable.
Check the selected color against your text or background color.
AA requires 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. This checks color contrast, not full WCAG compliance.

A little theory. A lot to explore.
PALUNEXA rotates hues on the HSL color wheel and keeps saturation and lightness unchanged. Monochromatic palettes vary lightness instead. Harmony is a starting point for design, not a guarantee of aesthetic fit.
